I am the owner of the shop. I am attempting to use all means available to me to let people know that I am closing the shop as of the end of July 2008.

I have taken extreme pride in what we have done over the past 10 years. I would rather close-up completely than to sell the name to strangers.

For any who stumble upon this old listing for Highlands Floral and would wish my personal suggestion of whom else to try, look up Park Lane.

I have trusted Grant with my regular customers whenever I have had too much on my plate to handle any more, or on occasions I have been closed.

There are many fine florists in Birmingham... but if I need to order something myself, once my shop is closed, this is where I would expect to call first.

Mt. Brook Flower Shop, by Malloy Love, can't be beaten on quality... it is where quality and price meet that I mention Park Lane first... not that it is a budget establishment, as it is not... but perhaps a bit less pricey for what you get.

The issue of price is not, in my opinion, based solely upon talent, as much as where the shops are located.

In terms of quality, you could never go wrong ordering from Mt. Brook Flower Shop.

When I have been closed, Grant has taken care of my customers through Park Lane... I have never gotten a complaint...

I leave it up to you, the consumer, to decide what feels right to you.

Norton's and Martin's are both old local names in the trade... as is Lackey's, now owned by the company that runs the largest set of funeral homes in our area.

There are plenty of other reputable florists in our area, so I will not try to name any more.
